|Description||In this tutorial, students have the opportunity to apply their knowledge of fluid mechanics acquired during their elementary studies in practice. Furthermore, the theoretical basics and practical applications of established measurement and experimental methods in the fields of fluid mechanics and aeronautics are taught in this tutorial.|
The aim of this tutorial is to determine the polar curve of a glider (Dimona H36). The polar curve serves to evaluate the aerodynamic properties of aerofoils and -planes. The required measurement data are gathered by the students during a 30 minute flight using the flight instruments of the glider. The experiments are conducted and analysed in groups of five. The results are then presented and discussed together.
