For the 2026 summer term, the Institute of Turbomachinery and Fluid Dynamics (TFD) hosted its event for emerging researchers, offering interested students a multifaceted look into research and everyday work life.
To kick things off, participants were given an introduction to the institute in the open-access library. In addition to research areas, the presentation covered academic and industrial partnerships as well as various funding programs and awards for undergraduates and doctoral candidates.
This was followed by a tour of selected TFD test facilities. Among the sites visited were the AWT facility, a turbine test line, and the large-scale compressor station. In addition, the respective group leaders personally presented the focal areas of their research groups.
To wrap up the event, a group barbecue, cold drinks, and outstanding weather ensured a relaxed conclusion to the day.
