"Numerical Analysis of Sensitivities of Anterior Core Engine Noise Evolution and Reduction"

To achieve a reduction in the noise emission of jet engines it is necessary to understand the aeroacoustic characteristics of an aircraft engine. A numerical model will be developed to calculate the sound generation and propagation in a multistage axial compressor. In the course of a sensitivity study the effects of noise-reducing components and unsteady flow conditions on the sound field will be investigated. Furthermore, the impact of different inlet geometries on the sound emission will be analyzed.
