Production Engineering

Experiment "chatter vibrations and cutting force measurements"

Institute of Production Engineering and Machine Tools [IFW]

Overview

The experiment at the IFW is subdivided into the two partial experiments "chatter vibrations in machine tools" and "cutting force measurement during turning". The basics and the influences on process stability during milling are taught. In the experiment, unstable chatter vibrations are consciously brought about and metrologically recorded. Additionally, the dependencies of the cutting forces on the turning of different influencing variables are shown and proved experimentally in the experiment.
