About Lappeenranta-Lahti University

The university was established in 1969 and is located in the southeast of Finland. The focus of the university is on renewable energies and technologies, as well as sustainable action. This focus can be seen, for example, in the green campus project, which was launched in 2011.

Currently, about 5,700 students study at the university. The university's location near the Russian border also provides a unique opportunity to experience Russian culture in nearby St. Petersburg.

A first cooperation between Lappeenranta University of Technology and the University of Hannover already took place in April 2003.
