Mechanics

Experiment “Forced Vibration“

Institute of Dynamics and Vibration Research [IDS]

Overview

Vibrations occur everywhere in nature and mechanics. They are often considered in a negative light, especially in technical applications, but there are also many ways to make positive use of them. Using a swinging rigid beam, the effects of a forced and an unbalanced excitation on such a system shall be investigated. In a further experiment, the intrinsic forms of a non-rigid beam are also shown.

The experiments offer the opportunity to gain practical insights into the theoretical foundations of technical mechanics.Durchführung:
