Training as Specialised Computer Scientist Systems Engineering
Since 2003, the Computer Centre of the Leibniz Universität Hannover has offered training in "Specialised Computer Scientist Systems Engineering".
In 2016, the Institute of Turbomachinery and Fluid-Dynamics also started offering this training. The institute has already offered the training of "Precision Engineers Specializing in Precision Mechanics" for many years.
The training is based on the principle of "dual education". The Institute takes care of the practical part, and the professional school takescare of the theoretical part. The training is split into blocks of 2 weeks of study and 4/5 weeks of practice in the institute. The examinations are taken at the "Industrie- und Handelskammer Hannover".
The Institute of Turbomachinery and Fluid-Dynamics offers the best possible opportunityy to gain practical experience, due to its heterogeneous IT environment consisting of Windows and Linux-Systems for desktop, and also for the servers.
The training covers:
- Basic skills of installation and management of computer systems, as well as end user support.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as PHP/Bash/Perl/PowerShell, and even an introduction into programming languages like C
- Networking techniques, IT security (S/MIME, firewall)
The adjacent university offers many more courses which can be participated in, in particular those offered by the computing centre of the university.
Applicants should already have some knowledge of IT, e.g. previous experience in solving computer problems for your family/friends or administering the computers/ homepage of your club.
We expect the applicants being able to autonomously learn new fields, and capable of good work/life balance.
A school-leaving certificate with good grades in the scientific subjects like Physics, Maths Computer science and English.
