Loss decomposition in compressor flows
Abstract
The goal of this paper is a phenomenologically based decomposition of flow losses generated in an axial compressor.
The loss-decomposition method was developed initially based on turbine test cases and provides a breakdown of the
entropy creation in aerofoil and end-wall boundary layers, wakes, secondary-flow vortices, and compression shocks.
The loss analysis is conducted for different operating points.
