Mona Amer receives award from the Lower Saxony Chamber of Engineers Foundation

Our colleague Mona Amer was honored by the Foundation of the Lower Saxony Chamber of Engineers for her outstanding achievements in her doctoral thesis. The foundation honors particularly practical scientific work by engineers at universities in Lower Saxony. From the 42 nominees, Mona Amer was selected as one of eight final theses, two of which were doctoral theses. The foundation prize was presented at a New Year's reception on February 6, 2024.
In her doctoral thesis entitled "Operational modal analysis of thermal turbomachinery", Mona Amer investigated how the vibration behaviour of turbomachinery can best be measured and characterized during operation. This poses numerous challenges due to interference (e.g. from rotating components) in the vibration signature. The findings can be used in future for the development of structural health monitoring approaches and digital twins.

Congratulations, Mona!
