  • Information Technology (m/f/d) - Specialization: System Integration

Information Technology (m/f/d) - Specialization: System Integration

Since 2003, the Computing Center of Leibniz University (LUIS) has been training IT specialists in the field of system integration. With the start of the 2016/17 training year, the Institute for Turbomachinery and Fluid Dynamics also trained in the extensive field of IT system integration for the first time. The institute has also successfully trained apprentices in metalworking professions for many years.

The training is based on the dual principle, i.e. we take care of the operational part and the vocational school takes care of the academic part. The vocational school takes place in blocks about every six weeks for two weeks at a time. The examinations are administered by the Hanover Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK-Hannover).

The Institute for Turbomachinery and Fluid Dynamics offers the best training opportunities due to the heterogeneous system landscape (Windows, Linux as client and server operating system, but also embedded devices). Besides the basic knowledge in installation and administration of the above mentioned systems, the end user support as well as the learning of different script languages (PHP/Bash/Perl/PowerShell) and an introduction to programming languages like C are part of the training. Furthermore, knowledge of network technology, IT security (certificates and encryption, firewall) etc. is of course also taught. In addition, there is the possibility to attend appropriate courses on various topics at the computer center of Leibniz Universität Hannover. The advantage for our trainees is that our trainer also works as an examiner at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce and can therefore prepare them for the final exams in the best possible way - but succeeding still depends on your own will to learn.

It is ideal for your application as an IT specialist trainee if you already have or have had initial experience in dealing with data processing systems. For example, you have solved problems with computers belonging to acquaintances or relatives, or you look after the computers in a club, for example, or maintain a club homepage. We expect applicants to be able to familiarize themselves with a topic independently and to have good working and social skills.

    • Your profile

      From the trainees we expect

      • Willingness to learn
      • initiative
      • responsible action
      • good social behavior.

As a school-leaving qualification, at least a secondary school leaving certificate (Realschulabschluss) with good grades in the natural sciences (including computer science, if applicable), as well as mathematics and English, is required.
