The Institute for Turbomachinery and Fluid Dynamics has powerful measurement equipment in the field of acoustics.

Field of Application

  • Measurement of acoustic fields (interior and exterior acoustics)
  • Sound field measurements in pipe systems and turbomachinery

Equipment

  • Pre-polarized ¼" pressure field microphones from G.R.A.S., dynamic range: 38 dB - 168 dB, frequency range: 4 Hz - 70 kHz, applications up to 140°C possible
  • Pre-polarized ¼"free field microphones from G.R.A.S., dynamic range: 32 dB(A) - 135 dB, frequency range: 5 kHz - 20 kHz
  • Various free-field and pressure-field microphones (1", ½", ¼" ) from Brüel and Kjaer
  • Various inst. Pressure sensors (Kulite - various pressure ranges)
  • Sound level analyzer (Brüel and Kjaer - type: 2250)
  • Pistophone, calibrator
  • Acoustic camera (custom)
